Think Europe - Educator Training with work placement abroad

We are the only vocational school in the region to offer students of the Vocational Schools for Social Work and Social Pedagogy the exceptional opportunity to complete practical periods abroad as part of their training in Europe through the European funding program Erasmus+.

One-year vocational college for social pedagogy

The one-year vocational college prepares students for training at a vocational school for Social Pedagogy (training as an educator) or Social Work (training as a youth and home educator). It offers the opportunity to get to know the job profile of the educator, to check the personal suitability for this profession, to acquire professional and social skills and to develop one's own personality. On two practical days per week, the students can experience and try themselves and are closely accompanied by our teachers.

Vocational School for Social Pedagogy

Two-year vocational college, training to become a state-certified educator

The training offered by our vocational school prepares students for all activities as an educator.
The full-time school education with extensive work placement lasts two years. This is followed by a one-year professional work placement.
Through the school-based teaching content, the students acquire:

  • Professional competencies, such as basics of pedagogy and psychology, planning and implementation of musical-artistic projects, nature pedagogy.
  • Social competencies, such as building positive relationships, conflict management, teamwork.
  • Personal competencies, such as taking on the role of educator in a professional manner, communication and reflection skills.

Students can choose focal points according to their interests:

  • Theater pedagogy
  • Children under the age of three
  • Work with school children
  • Conflict management
  • Nutrition
  • Cooking with children
  • Communication workshop

Through additional instruction and additional examinations in mathematics, German and English, the entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences and thus the general ability to study at a university of applied sciences can be obtained.

Vocational School for Social Work

Two-year vocational college, training to become a state-certified youth and home educator

The training offered by our vocational school prepares students for all activities as an educator.
The full-time school education with extensive work placements lasts two years. This is followed by a one-year professional work placement.
Through the school-based teaching content, the students acquire:

  • Professional competencies, such as the basics of pedagogy, psychology, law and media education, planning, and implementation of musical-artistic projects
  • Social competencies, such as dealing with children and adolescents who have special needs, can motivate and support in problem and conflict situations
  • Personal competencies, such as taking on the role of educator in a professional manner, empathy and reflectivity, dealing with stressful situations
